Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Acolyte mobile application and website (the "Service") operated by Acolytes PBC ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service.

Description of Service

Acolyte is a mobile application designed to help Catholics stay connected to their parish. The Service provides access to parish updates, the Catholic liturgical calendar, parish directory information, and donation tools.

User Accounts

When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

Donations

When making donations through the Service:

• All donations are processed securely through Stripe, our third-party payment processor.
• Donations are made directly to your selected parish or designated recipient.
• Processing fees may apply as disclosed during the donation process.
• Donations are generally non-refundable. For refund requests, please contact the receiving parish or our support team.
• We provide donation receipts for your records; however, consult a tax professional regarding deductibility.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe upon the rights of others
• Submit false or misleading information
• Transmit harmful code, viruses, or malware
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
• Use the Service for any fraudulent or unlawful purpose

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Acolytes PBC and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Acolytes PBC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use or inability to use the Service.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Acolytes PBC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New York, NY.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
